Our office is closed this week as our staff is attending our national conference. It's a wonderful time of learning, which helps us help our clients.

If you need us, please call and leave a message, we do have someone checking the mail and the answering machine this week. If it's time sensitive, they will let us know!

The 2026 Welcome Conference is live! Over 200 people are gathered together because we believe no immigrant should journey alone.

The next few days will be packed with learning and training in immigration legal services, community partnerships, and extending radical love and welcome to immigrants!

We're working long nights to make sure we get out the cases that will be affected by the new Public Charge rule that takes effect Sept. 18th.

These cases take between 10 - 15 hours each, from document collection, forms, review and signs with the clients, and prepped for mailing. Extra time if translations are needed or Joint Sponsors are involved.

But each conversation, each case, each late night hour is worth it because Immigrants are worth it!
Our communities are stronger.
Our economy is stronger.
Our nation is stronger.

This webinar will help churches better understand what is happening with TPS, with particular attention to the challenges currently facing Haitian families, while also preparing churches to support other affected communities. Together, we will explore how churches can respond with compassion, wisdom, trusted information, and practical support during a season of uncertainty.

Why are we at Immigrant Connection at May Ave Wesleyan Church committed to welcoming ALL our Immigrant Neighbors?

As believers, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Ger, the Hebrew word for immigrant or foreigner (stranger in some translations) occurs 92 times in the Old Testament. The Greek word for immigrant, xenos, occurs 14 times in the New Testament.

God provides a clear mandate to care for, walk alongside, and seek justice on behalf of immigrants. We are called to treat those who are foreign born fairly and justly, providing hospitality.

We also believe ALL people are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27-28; Acts 17:26-27) and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

It is our deepest hope and desire, that our clients see our hearts and feel our care for them while they are with us.

During this National Immigrant Heritage Month, we want to celebrate the diverse cultures and traditions immigrants have made to the US. We would not be the great nation we are now without their foundational contributions.
