Adoption Tax Credit FAQs - The North American Council on Adoptable Children

Remember to check with a tax professional if you adopted a child last year. You may be eligible for the adoption tax credit even if you did not have any out of pocket expenses. I have linked an article below with some great information.

We will be turning our parking lot into a drive thru where you can pick up you matching Christmas P.J.s, and adorable stockings. For the kids will be Santa, a fireman and a policeman. Nine-year-old stays strong, dreams big through long journey to finally finding A Place to Call Home

We finalized an adoption for one of my favorite families ever last week. Foster care is a long, emotional journey and is never easy. Not everyone is called to foster or adopt, but everyone can support Oklahoma's foster families. Offer to babysit, take them a meal, or learn more about one of the many nonprofits that exist. I'm personally involved in the 111Project, Fostering Sweet Dreams. and All Kidz, but there are so many more. Please add your favorites in the comments!

Chosen (OKC Adoption/Foster Ministry)

If you are looking for a group in the Oklahoma City area please check into Chosen. This ministry is wonderful and can be an amazing support system for those in the foster care/adoption journey.

Chosen starts back this Wednesday!
What is Chosen? We are a small group of foster/adoptive parents that meet together for support and education once a month. Classes are at Crossings Community Church Wednesdays from 6:30-8pm (childcare provided). If you are a foster or adoptive parent, or thinking about it, I hope you'll join us.

HALO Project

Great news for 2020, we are now offering a TBRI One Day Overview for foster and adopt families! This event is normally only available to our partners participating in the Oklahoma TBRI Collaborative for Children (OTCC). We now have spots for very special guests living the life with children who are hurting from the trauma and loss. Register soon because we only have 60 spots and they will go quickly.

Registration will provide breakfast, lunch, drinks, snacks, as well as 6.5 hours of training (certificate provided).

This training is on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Sign in will begin at 8:30am. Event will be from 9am-4:30pm. Training will be held at the HALO Project office @ 401 E. Memorial Rd. Ste. 500, OKC, OK 73114. Unfortunately, there is no childcare.
