Have your actions been as bad as the way the Oklahoma City Thunder played in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals?

Look… not every client walks into our office with perfect facts, clean hands, or a highlight reel worthy of ESPN. Sometimes your case looks more like missed free throws, lazy turnovers, and a fourth quarter collapse in San Antonio.

That’s where we come in.

Marriage shouldn’t look like Game 5 between the Thunder and the Spurs.

If every disagreement in your house ends with someone throwing themselves dramatically onto the floor looking for a penalty, replay review, sympathy call, and emotional damages… it might be time to call a timeout.

Since the boys are resting for the WCF, let’s talk divorce process:

Mediation in a divorce is kind of like the Oklahoma City Thunder advancing through the playoffs — everybody would rather settle things early than take a beating in seven games.

Mediation gives both sides a chance to negotiate parenting time, property division, and support with the help of a neutral third party before letting a judge call the final play. It’s usually faster, less expensive, and far less stressful than full-blown litigation. Not to mention, required by most Judges.

Because unlike the teams getting eliminated by OKC this postseason… not every disagreement needs to end in complete destruction.

A good mediation can help:
⚡️Keep control in your hands instead of the court’s
⚡️Reduce conflict for the children
⚡️Save time, money, and emotional energy
⚡️Avoid turning every conversation into a postgame press conference meltdown (Lebron, we’re looking at you 👀)

Think of mediation as trying to win the series in 5… instead of dragging everyone through double overtime and technical fouls.

🏀 Why didn’t the others settle?

Some cases don’t settle because emotions, control issues, unrealistic expectations, or poor communication get in the way. Sometimes one party wants revenge instead of resolution. Sometimes it’s worth the loss of control to put it before the Court. Of those 10, some have already reached successful resolution for our client in Court.

At the end of the day, mediation is a tool, not magic. It can be incredibly effective when both parties are ready to move forward. But if one person is determined to treat the divorce like a Game 7 elimination after losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder, sometimes the court has to step in and make the final call.
