Justice today in Oklahoma County. After over a year of fighting for a criminal client, today the State agreed to do the right thing and dismiss the criminal charges against my client.

Instead of facing prison, the original plea recommendation, my client now gets to move on with his life.

As an attorney I have the humbling honor of representing some of our Nation’s greatest heroes; some recipients of the Purple Heart. I am grateful to represent these patriots and the Oklahoma Department of Military Order of Purple Heart. I am thankful to call them friends.

Today, Governor Stitt signed a piece of Legislation formally recognizing the State of Oklahoma as a Purple Heart State, thus formally recognizing, in law, the sacrifice and dedication of these heroes. I was a guest for the Bill signing.

The “Innocent Man” Courthouse from John Grisham’s Novel of the same name and the new Netflix docuseries.

We started today in Lincoln County for our own Innocent Man. After challenging the State to a trial the State did the right thing and dismissed the wrongful charges against my client.

This morning the United States Supreme Court issued a decision that could impact you if you’re charged with a crime. Before today law enforcement could obtain records for cell phone towers to track your past movements. This information is often used to accuse people of being at or near a crime scene. The information is used in a lot of cases. As a prosecutor, I often used it.

Today in a case called Carpenter v. United States, the Supreme Court held that now law enforcement must obtain a search warrant to access these location records. This is a big win for protecting against big brother.

If you are charged with a crime it is important to hire a lawyer who understands and follows major changes in the law that could impact your case.
