You never know where you’ll find one of our attorneys next. This week, Jeremy Otis and ICW Case Worker, Cheyenne Witt, were in San Joaquin County, California, representing the interests of the Delaware Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma and advocating for strict compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). We are proud to support Tribal partners and ICW professionals in upholding federal law and protecting the integrity of Tribal families!

⚖️ 7–1. Affirmed. 🏛️

The Oklahoma Supreme Court affirmed summary judgment for the University of Oklahoma in 2026 OK 2—confirming the trial court got it right as a matter of law. Clean record. Careful advocacy. Durable result. ✅📜

Grateful to collaborate with excellent counsel and McAfee & Taft, and for the steady work of our Executive Director, Austin Vance JD/CVA, on behalf of the University. 🤝⚖️

Whether it is appellant advocacy or other legal needs, we are here to help!

🚨This week, All Rise! Attorney, Jeremy Otis, is in Columbia, South Carolina, representing the Absentee Shawnee Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma (AST) at the 25th Inter-Tribal Working Group (ITWG) on Special Tribal Criminal Jurisdiction (STCJ), which is facilitated by the Department of Justice.🚨

Featured in this festive photo are (from left to right): Nathan Coleman, Quapaw Nation Tribal Prosecutor; Corissa Millard, Quapaw Nation Court Administrator; Jeremy Otis, AST Assistant Attorney General; Johanna Farmer with the National American Indian Court Judges Association (NAICJA); and Monique Carpitcher, AST Domestic Violence Advocate. 🎄🎁🎄🎅🎄

We are honored, once again, to stand alongside our tribal partners from all over the country. ITWG and STCJ are vital to strengthening tribal sovereignty, enhancing jurisdictional capacity, and advancing justice and safety for Native communities.
