Michael A. Trevino is a an experienced trial attorney in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Born in Lima, Ohio – July 1972. His family moved to Oklahoma when he was 8 years old. He attended elementary and middle schools in Del City and Midwest City before graduating from Midwest City High School in 1990 as a Varsity member of the National Championship Wrestling Team. After attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater for a few years, Michael enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served honorably for 10 years and separated at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-5).
During his tour with the Air Force, Michael was trained as a medical technician and worked for 5 years in the Coronary Care Unit at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. His training required him to be nationally certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with training in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
While in San Antonio, Michael received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After graduation, Michael volunteered for recruiting duty back in his home state of Oklahoma where he recruited and supervised hundreds of enlisted and prior service airmen. It was during this time Michael excelled at Oklahoma City University School of Law. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Juris Doctorate in 2004 and was a Staff Editor on the school’s Law Review.
After law school, Michael immediately went to work at the Oklahoma County Public Defender’s Office as an Assistant Public Defender. While there, he was responsible for hundreds of cases and as a felony trial attorney tried everything from misdemeanors to murder cases. Eventually Michael would leave the public sector and go into private practice where he would expand his practice areas to include Family Law and Civil Litigation.
Michael joined Klingenberg and Associates as a trial lawyer in the fall of 2014. He returned to private practice in 2016 to build his firm into one that can serve all the clients’ needs and provide superior service and compassion.
He has three beautiful children – Abigail, Dominick and Maxwell. He was admitted to the Oklahoma Bar in 2004. He’s also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. He’s a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Oklahoma County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the National Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association and the Criminal, Family Law and Probate Sections of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He has received advanced training in cross examination and trial skills.
