Dear Movers and Shakers and everyone in between,
You are on this invitation list because you own a building, or a business, or you are a community advocate, elected official, or just someone that really matters to the overall scheme of things and you want to see Gunnison and its communities be the best they can be.
We are trying to get our Gunnison Main Street organization rolling that is part of the Main Street America Program. This program offers significant benefits that we can build upon as we look to develop our Main Street and local economy. Gunnison Main Street Alliance is more than a chamber of commerce. We can explain everything along with the benefits of its implementation at our meeting this coming Tuesday.
The Main Street Program has four parts, one of which is Promotion. We are planning another Downtown Block Party Event to bring everyone to Main Street! It will be called THE MAIN EVENT and will be held from 5 pm to 9 pm on Friday, September 11. We are asking the City to close 100 South again and ERIC DODGE, Country Western Star will give a concert and also teach us all how to line dance. We are coordinating with United We March which begins the next morning at 6:30 am for their annual RUCK and hope to capture many of their participants who may come the day before and stay in our hotels, here and nearby.
We need your great ideas and enthusiasm. Gunnison Main Street Alliance can be a catalyst for change in our downtown. We want to collaborate with everyone who have an interest and elevate our entire community.
