With an estimated cost of $25,000 the city created 4 cottages with lights. Today, the Village features over 60 cottages and a dazzling light display. 🎄🎁

The initial vision for Christmas Village was clear: to be the centerpiece of Ogden's holiday celebrations, a cherished annual tradition that anchors families to the downtown area and grows more spectacular each season.👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎄

🛎️🚨Fun Ogden Fact - The east corner of 25th and Washington has been a historic hub for travelers for over 150 years! In 1869, The Junction hotel was built on the site. The Reed Hotel replaced the Junction in 1891.🏨

👉🏻With Ogden's growth, the Hotel Bigelow, was built in 1927. Interestingly, the hotel was added onto the side of the Reed Hotel. It offered 340 rooms, with private baths.🛁 The hotel was opulent both the inside and outside. Inspired by Europe's finest styles. 🏳️🏴

Hotel Bigelow did not survive the Great Depression. Its doors closed in 1931. The hotel found a new owner and a new name. The Ben Lomond Hotel opened in 1932.

The Ben Lomond Hotel was added to The National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Cementing its importance as an architectural beauty. 🏞️😇

🏨📅The property has undergone many changes over the last 150 years. One thing is for sure, it is one of Ogden's finest buildings.
Some spots just have history in their foundation! 🚂🤠

The building was converted into the Ogden Justice Court in 2006 as part of an adaptive-reuse project.🏗️🏛️

The justice court handles traffic citations, criminal misdemeanors, and small claims cases within the city limits.
