Spending time in court often makes me wonder how much research people do before hiring an attorney? Many of these attorneys are getting sanctioned (fancy word for when the court punishes you for doing something irresponsible or plain old stupid)… before you hire an attorney- do your research - look at their reviews (not from their own webpage…but things like Yelp, Google, etc) and check their state bar association website to see if there has been disciplinary action against them.
Sometimes people give a 5 star review just because they get the outcome they wanted - but people really need to understand every aspect of their bills, where the time goes, and remember - an attorney wants the win but if they don’t win, they go home and start a new day the next day…and don’t care how much money they took from you during the process…
Be aware of what you are committing to and don’t just sign a retainer agreement to hire them without understanding every line in those “very long) agreements!

There are so many legal aspects happening in our country today - especially law suits regarding various government agencies and people.
I often wonder - setting the politics aside (which side of the aisle you support or which person you support or don’t support) - how many actually understand the legal aspects - knowing the law and politics sometimes interact (especially when judges insert their political beliefs when making a ruling)…it is important for us Americans to know why the outcomes are what they are - whether you like or hate the outcome l.

The law is fascinating and most people don’t understand the various aspects of the law, and the many different types of law there are.
People hear”lawyer” and think they take a case on anything. But that isn’t often true!

Once again, I just saw an AAG commercial (with Tom Selleck) and they make me angry because the commercials are incredibly false advertising…definitely misleading. I’m surprised no one has brought a lawsuit yet - looks like a potential class-action….

I wonder if any of my law school buddies want to look into this….the first person that comes to mind is Tara R. Burd….what do you think?

Random note: I’m watching an episode from the show Bull. While I enjoy the show - many of these shows about crime and law bug me a bit….for instance - the female prosecutor in this episode is wearing a tight, sleeveless dress. No business jacket or anything. (Of course the make defense attorney is wearing the typical suit and tie).
I’ve had many court appearances- attorneys - female and male - wear business attire - not slinky dresses! At least not a slinky dress without a business jacket covering the top part!
Come on Hollywood (and this show is produced by the famous Dr. Phil - he should know better!).

Just saw a commercial for a TV show I’ve never heard of (called Elsbeth).
A man says, “you said you wanted to help.”
The lady answered, “I do but if I wanted to be duplicitous and obstruct justice, I would have stayed a lawyer….” 😂
I love lawyer insults! 😂😜🤷‍♀️

I grew up with traditional medicine (especially with a mother as a nurse), but overtime, I learned that traditional medicine has it's purposes (like keeping me alive after a serious medical issue a few years ago)...but essential oils provided a LOT of additional benefits (and helped me BEAT all the doctor's expectations).
I don't understand why people don't jump on the bandwagon, or why they buy cheap essential oils at the store (that are often watered down and have added JUNK you don't want) and often only use them as a form of air freshener...They are SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT! (Although, most of them do smell wonderful and can create an incredible atmosphere! Especially wonderful to have a lovely smell, and know it isn't harmful like typical air fresheners...)

Random note: These AAG commercials about reverse mortgages (with Tom Selleck) make me ANGRY as they are complete lies… not trying to take your home - just a loan….absolutely false…I know - because I have experience with someone getting one and seeing the aftermath because not ALL factors were presented.
Their “loan counseling” that they require - doesn’t give accurate information either. Whatever financial position you are in and are thinking of a reverse mortgage or refinancing- PLEASE talk to an attorney first and make sure you aren’t leaving an aftermath in your wake!

I love these shows where a law school student is being questioned/arrrsted and suddenly they know it all and use legal language to argue with the investigators…..

Pretty sure we learned that in year 1….you don’t pull that kind id idiocy- especially if you ever really want to GET your license….

I REALLY wish these shows would do better with things related to law and medicine! 🤷‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

This is why no one should ever try to replicate the education they get from Hollywood when ever facing a legal issue. Call a REAL attorney - one with a license in the applicable state 94 federal jurisdiction!
