Yesterday, I had the pleasure of teaching a CLE (continuing legal education) class to my fellow cape may county attorneys at the Chalfonte……..and today I’m in a cabin in the middle of nowhere canoeing with my family. The duality is kind of what I live for.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!

Big, huge, congrats to my client, Chris Devaney, and his business, Able Acres, on the purchase of their 18+ acre commercial property (where they currently operate their business). Our office handled the entirety of the transaction including Contract preparation & negotiation, corporate organization and formation, lease and lease-back preparation & negotiation, survey & title representation, all negotiations with Seller’s attorney, and closing.

Able Acres, as a business, is an objective beacon of “good”, and I feel extreme personal pride to have had the good fortune of representing Chris, and Able Acres, as their attorney for this “transaction.”

I Love You All!!

Meet Andrea! Andrea is Middle Township's former Municipal Clerk and currently serves as our office's "get your 'ish together [insert client name and/or my name]" woman. She keeps me in line, serves as our notary, handles client communication on the daily, and unequivocally makes my life happier and more efficient. More/Most importantly, she's probably (1) one of the top 3 biggest Eagles fans I've met in my life (which I consider a massive resume builder); and (2) expecting a (hopefully fat cheeked/ankle rolls/wrist rolls) baby girl in a couple months, which our entire office is probably too excited about.

WE LOVE YOU A.S.!!! NEVER LEAVE OR QUIT PLEASE!!!!

whistle-congrats to my 2 great buddies/much worse golfers than me/local attorneys, John Amenhauser, Esq. & Dan McCann, Esq., on their recent municipal appointments.

John Amenhauser, Esq., has been appointed the Solicitor (town attorney) for Upper Township, and Dan McCann, Esq., has been appointed as the Public Defender for Sea Isle City Municipal Court. (These appointments are in addition to their respective law practices).

John and Dan are 2 out of the, maybe, 4 people I ask questions to when I'm stumped on something (legal or otherwise). I highly respect their knowledge, opinions and respectful straight forward attitude; their respective municipalities should be jumping with joy that they were able to scoop them up.

Love you both!

A couple months ago I helped a family of 4 out of the ocean. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of receiving positive comments, handshakes, and un-wanted press (and most importantly random people buying me beers when I’m out and about).

My brother and I grew up with parents who taught us from a young age “if you’re good at something, people know you’re good. There’s no need to talk or boast about it.” With that, I’ve politely declined any kind of award/recognition for the events that unfolded in August.

With that being said, the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission (a 120 year old commission started by Andrew Carnegie out of Pittsburgh) nominated me to be recognized for my efforts and award me the Carnegie Medal. Gillian, my mom, dad, brother, and kids are all vehemently demanding that I accept this award. Aside from the nomination/award (which I’m still uncomfortable accepting), I want my kids to see that helping people in need is a noble and admirable thing to do (even in the divisive climate we live in today).

I love you all - but more importantly, I want to thank everyone who’s stopped me in Shoprite, Dino's Diner, Barefoot Coffee, on the beach, or during my nightly bike ride to shake my hand; sent me texts, called me and/or my family to say a positive remark. It’s all too much and I’m deeply appreciative.

I LOVE YOU ALL!!

Joe Innocente (his last name translates to "INNOCENT" for goodness sake) was our summer intern this year and just finished up his last week of work.

We usually get anywhere between 10-15 intern requests each year and this is the FIRST year we brought on a summer legal intern. When I interviewed Joe I explained to him that we are a General Practice law firm (which in my, subjective, opinion is the best kind); we help local people, and businesses, with their day to day legal affairs/problems. Stuff that might not be seen as the sexiest areas of law, but for each respective client it's likely the most important issue of their life (purchasing a home, death of a loved one, getting estate planning complete, assistance with a small business). I made it clear that our office takes our clients, and their respective matters, extremely serious and that our reputation within the community is pretty positive because of that.

Coming from a small business family (like me), Joe was a prefect fit for the office (and for our clients). He made clients comfortable, spoke to people with care and decency, and always asked the right questions (which usually are the hardest questions to ask), and helped with reviewing a myriad of legal documents that come through our door on a day to day basis (Real Estate contracts, Business transactional documents, Deeds, briefs, memos, etc.)

He starts his first year of Seton Hall Law School next week (on a full ride academic scholarship!!!!! Get it!!!!) and everyone here at the office is wishing him the best of luck. Joe will continue to help out in the office during his winter/summer breaks.

We Love you Mr. Innocent!!!!!!!
