Justice Dawn Beam, Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Dawn Beam was appointed to the Supreme Court by Governor Bryant in December 2015. In 2007 she was elected Lamar County Prosecutor.

For the past 30 years, with each position she has held, Justice Beam has helped people, in particular our children. She is passionate about the Law and fulfilling her duty to make sure every citizen gets a fair trial. Moreover, Justice Beam has embraced her position on the Supreme Court as a way to improve the lives of families and children. Justice Beam started practicing law in 1989, first with the State and then private practice. Beginning 2010, Justice Beam was elected Chancery Judge.

Domestic violence is a serious issue in our State. This week I spoke to a Sheriff and he said a great deal of his time is spent in this area and mental health. We all need to do our part. Some of the saddest stories we hear are law enforcement being killed trying to help in these situations.
