If you asked me as a teenager where my passion for agriculture came from, I would have told you when I started showing in the Southeastern Youth Fair. As an adult, I would say agriculture was a part of my family for generations even though I did not grow upon a traditonal family farm. My grandparents were raised on farms, I am a second generation 4-H and FFA member, and my dad was a forester for 41 years. I have spent the majority of my career in as an agriculture. Prior to law school, I spent two years as an agriculture teacher in Marion County. After law school, I worked in Agriculture and Natural Resources policy attorney for the Florida House of Representatives, worked as a land and government affairs associate for the largest cattle operator in the U.S., and as a government affairs associate for a statewide association. My experience stems from education, negotiating and implementing agriculture contracts across the state, water permitting and compliance with federal and state water management districts, agriculture and environmental regulations, land use issues, water rights and mitigation, and cell phone tower and billboard contracts.
