And today, I’ve got a little Florida beauty, something special happening in Ocala, and a thought to carry into the week ahead!

Did you know that while much of the country is watching leaves fall, Florida gardens can still be bursting with beautiful flowers and butterflies?

October is a wonderful time to enjoy our native wildflowers!

Goldenrod, blazing star, and other Florida natives provide valuable food for butterflies and pollinators.

Just another reason I love living in our beautiful Sunshine State! 🦋🌸

🎭 SOMETHING SPECIAL HAPPENING IN OCALA TODAY!

If you’re looking for a little Sunday afternoon entertainment, here’s a wonderful local event!

The Secret River: A Storybook Ballet is being performed TODAY at the Reilly Arts Center!

🕑 Performances at 2:00 and 6:30 p.m.

🎟️ Tickets range from $20–$35.

Inspired by a beloved Florida story, this family-friendly ballet celebrates courage, hope, imagination, and the beauty of our Florida heritage!

I love seeing our community celebrate the arts! ❤️

Here’s a simple project for your next home-maintenance day!

Take a walk around your home and check where your gutters and downspouts direct rainwater.

Florida gets plenty of rain, and water collecting near your foundation can eventually cause problems.

Make sure drainage areas are clear and water flows AWAY from your home.

A little prevention today can save expensive repairs tomorrow! 💜

You know, life has a way of keeping us so busy thinking about tomorrow that we sometimes forget to appreciate TODAY.

Florida insurance companies offer discounts for certain hurricane-protection features.

And some homeowners may already have qualifying features without realizing it!

Things like roof-to-wall connections, roof construction and hurricane-rated opening protection can make a difference.

A wind-mitigation inspection documents these features so your insurance company can determine which discounts apply.

💰 My advice?

Call your insurance agent and ask whether your current wind-mitigation report is on file and if you might qualify for additional savings.

Who doesn’t love keeping a little more money in their pocket? 💜

🚌 SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENING IN MARION COUNTY!

Here’s a little local news!

Our Marion County School Board just approved the purchase of 22 NEW SCHOOL BUSES!

The approximately $3.9 million investment will help replace aging buses, including vehicles designed to accommodate students using wheelchairs.

Delivery may take up to a year.

I love seeing investments that help make everyday life better for local families! ❤️

Buyers love walking out onto a beautiful lanai or patio.

But if that sliding door sticks, squeaks or takes two people to open, it can leave a bad impression!

Clean the tracks, check the rollers and make sure the locks work properly.

Sometimes the smallest improvements help a home feel beautifully maintained! 🏡

You know, I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to get discouraged when things don’t happen as quickly as we’d like.

Potbelly Sandwich Shop just opened its FIRST Marion County location yesterday!

The official grand opening is scheduled for October 24!

Another new dining option for our growing southwest Ocala community!

🍽️ DOWNTOWN OCALA HAS SOMETHING NEW, TOO!

Have you heard about The Forge?

This exciting dining and entertainment destination celebrated its grand opening Saturday!

Located at 343 NE 1st Avenue, it brings several restaurants and gathering spaces together in one location.

I love seeing our downtown continue to grow while giving people more reasons to shop, dine and spend time locally! ❤️

🚧 A LITTLE HEADS-UP FOR OCALA DRIVERS!

If you travel SR 200 near SW 60th Avenue, here’s something worth knowing!

The eastbound right-turn lane onto southbound SW 60th Avenue is scheduled to remain closed through Friday, October 16, for sidewalk and crosswalk improvements.

A little inconvenience now, but hopefully safer roads ahead!

When buying a home, the neighborhood is just as important as the house itself!

Nearby shopping, restaurants, road improvements and future development can all influence how convenient an area is to live in.

That’s why I encourage buyers to explore a neighborhood at different times of day BEFORE making that big decision!

Did you know we have a piece of Florida history right here in our own backyard that’s been amazing visitors for nearly 150 years?

And there’s something fun happening there this weekend!

🌊 DID YOU KNOW? SILVER SPRINGS HAS QUITE A HISTORY!

Back in the late 1870s, a clever fellow named Phillip Morrell put a piece of glass in the bottom of a rowboat so visitors could see beneath the crystal-clear water.

And just like that, the famous glass-bottom boat experience was born!

Today, Silver Springs is recognized as Florida’s oldest tourist attraction.

Pretty amazing that something invented so long ago is still bringing people to our beautiful community! ❤️

🐠 HERE’S ANOTHER SURPRISING FACT!

The limestone beneath Silver Springs formed more than 35 MILLION YEARS AGO!

And there are more than 30 documented springs in the upper Silver River!

Sometimes we forget just how extraordinary the natural beauty around Ocala really is. 🌿

🎃 SOMETHING FUN COMING THIS WEEKEND!

Silver Springs is bringing back its Lost Souls River Tour, beginning October 16!

Imagine riding one of those famous glass-bottom boats while hearing spooky stories and mysterious legends about the river!

The family-friendly tours are scheduled for select dates through Halloween.

Sounds like a fun way to enjoy a little Florida history with a Halloween twist! 👻

One thing I always remind buyers who dream of living near Florida’s beautiful springs and rivers…
