I am elated by this update! The Pacific Bridge Club (PBC) is an organization whose mission is to use traveling abroad as a tool for developing and supporting 9th-12th grade men of East Oakland. Founded by Jonathan Guy, a teacher at Oakland’s Castlemont High School, the PBC took 16 high school students to China in May 2018. In 2017 the Kazan McClain Partners’ Foundation donated $10,000 as initial “seed money” to the Pacific Bridge Club which helped launch their fundraising drive for their trip to China. I'm happy to report the students loved their travel experience and the program has had overwhelming student interest for their planned 2019 trip to China.

This is an exceptional video interview with Kazan Law partner Justin Bosl. Justin shares the story of our client, Timothy Vest, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma at the age of 44. A pilot at heart, Mr. Vest had been hanging around hangars and airplanes long before he earned his pilot license at age 16 and went on to become a commercial airline pilot. Unfortunately, there was asbestos in the airplane parts and airplane hangar that he played in as a child and the exposure over the years increased his risk of developing cancer.
