Hearings at the WCAB are still by phone except trials and expedited hearings. In some ways its a lot more efficient since you save commute and wait times during the hearings but in other ways it seems to take a little longer to resolve cases or issues. Also, there is a lot less interactions with colleagues resulting in less exchange of ideas and information. Here at Uriarte & Carr LLP we are still on the fence as to which way we would prefer to practice.

Our office will be closed on Monday July 4 in observance of the holiday. We will re-open Tuesday July 5 with our normal business hours of Monday through Thursday 8:30-12:00 PM and 1:30-5:00. We are closed for lunch from 12-1:30 and we are also closed the public of Friday's. On Friday's, If the matter is urgent, then you may email [email protected] and we will immediately attend to your issue.

Our attorneys and some of our legal assistants will be attending the summer California Applicants Attorney Association convention in San Francisco that runs Thursday 6/30 through Sunday 7/3. These conferences are highly intensive and will address, in detail, new laws, practice tips on how to approach certain complex issues and much more. Their panelists compose of expert attorney's and doctors of the highest caliber as well as Judges and other types of experts. For our office we look forward to hearing these approaches and comparing our own methodologies and merging them to benefit our clients so that we can more forcefully represent their interests.

As most everyone knows, our office location moved from 2101 Webster Street to 2100 Franklin Street, Suite 390 in Oakland. It really wasn't much of a move since these 2 buildings are really 2 towers that are connected and are like one building. If you come in through the entrance of our former address, you simply have to walk across the elevator banks and through the atrium area to our elevators.
