Hello all!

We have a new legal blog. As part of my work to help people better understand and navigate tricky legal situations that could cost them their hard-earned fortunes and livelihoods if not handled properly, I’ll be writing about common legal issues in our practice areas from a practical perspective. These are common issues in real estate, landlord-tenant, probate and estates, and civil rights generally.

My primary goal here is to start to give some of the knowledge that I have acquired over more than a decade of legal work and law practice in an accessible form that does not require full retention of an attorney, something that many folks are unable to afford.

My secondary, but no less important, goal is to give the reader the confidence to use these legal guides with grace and in a straightforward, non-judgmental way.

It has been a good year for Knutson Law Offices. We are happy to announce that Ryan Knutson was named to the National Trial Lawyers' Top 40 Under 40 - Northern California Civil Plaintiff 2023 Attorney List.

Earlier this year, Ryan was also named a Super Lawyer - Rising Star for 2022-2023 in Super Lawyers' Magazine for his practice in civil rights (Title IX, Title VII, and police liability), real estate and landlord/tenant litigation, and estate and conservatorship litigation.

Finally, this past year, Ryan served as the Alameda County Bar Association Barristers' Committee Chair, successfully leading the subcommittee in various programming, networking, and professional development events.

Knutson Law has a few new reviews from real estate negotiations and litigation recently closed. Many of our clients were initially impacted by government mandated closures of medium-sized and small businesses as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. One of our firm's main areas of focus is real estate and landlord-tenant related litigation.

Mr. Knutson was extremely helpful when dealing with our landlord as we negotiated our contract during COVID-19. He was knowledgeable about our case and our rights, took the time to listen and really worked with us to come to a resolution. He spent lots of time helping us sort through the legal terms and language. He listened to our needs and was able to convey that to the opposing counsel. He checked in with us frequently to make sure we understood where we were in the process and to answer any of our questions. Overall, he did an amazing job and if the need were to arise, we would definitely work with him again. "

Hello Facebook. Knutson Law now has a facebook business page! Knutson Law provides effective legal representation in civil rights and civil litigation, wrongful eviction and real estate, and elder law matters across California. We are growing, and now have a staff of 3 attorneys and legal operations support. Bios and pictures to come. You can now use the link and contact info on our page to contact us for advice/consultation.

We're also proud to announce that Ryan Knutson was recently elected as Chair of the Barristers Section of the Alameda County Bar Association. Ryan has served as secretary and vice-chair of the section during the last year, and will serve the remainder of his term as vice-chair before becoming chair of the executive committee in early 2022.

As part of the Barristers Section, Ryan has focused on building relationships with other lawyers and community stakeholders to help organize a variety of seminars and programs, including California Bar certified MCLE trainings on wrongful eviction, elder abuse, the law of police misconduct, and real estate law, as well as the 2020 Racial Justice series.
