The Oak Grove City Council held a Public Hearing on the proposed 2026 tax rate on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

The purpose of the hearing was to give Oak Grove residents an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns, and provide input regarding the proposed tax rate.

💬 Resident Questions & Discussion

Residents in attendance asked questions regarding the City’s current debt, the proposed revenue increase, and how changes in property assessments affect the amount of taxes paid.

One important clarification made during the discussion was that the 4% figure referenced during the hearing represents an increase in revenue, not a 4% tax rate.

The Finance Director also explained that the growth that occurred was not reflected in the previous year’s assessment but was captured in the current assessment.

Members of the City Council continued discussion regarding the proposed 2026 tax rate and the questions and concerns raised by residents.
