Today I asked a woman that I look up to a question & she gave me an incredibly helpful answer then she giggled. Then she apologized for giggling and said “I’m sorry. I’m laughing because when you asked the question I got nervous that I didn’t know the answer but now that I’ve answered you I surprised myself by how much I do know. I don’t know why we as women discount our knowledge & experience so often.” It was such an interesting observation she made & a valid point. Why do women undervalue their knowledge & experience? Why do we hold ourselves to this impossible standard of & rate ourselves so low on the scale? The ironic part was I had called her because I doubted my own even though as it turns out I knew the answer. So here we were 2 very capable women doubting ourselves it ability. A study found Men apply for a job when they meet only 60% of the qualifications, but women apply only if they meet 100% of them. So Men are confident about their ability at 60%, but women don’t feel confident until they’ve checked off every item on the list. Do you agree? Ladies do you only apply for that job when you are 100% sure you meet all the requirements and are positive you will not ? Men are you & will you apply if you only feel like you meet 60% of the requirements? below! I’d love to hear what you all think!

Success is a journey not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome. I used to think all my effort was a waste if things didn’t turn out the way I planned them to at the time I planned them to. I thought if I didn’t accomplish what I had set out to than it was a useless loss of time. I’ve only recently stepped back & realized the end result doesn’t erase the work & the personal growth. So many outside forces can impact your “success”. Things you can’t control can stop you from crossing the finish line you had set. But it can’t take away the strength you gained during the run. That inner growth will always be yours.
