Nakisha Chaney of Salvatore Prescott Porter & Porter recently served as a panelist in Scottsdale, Arizona, discussing best practices in mediation at the State Bar of Michigan’s Negligence Section and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Michigan Chapter Annual Spring Meeting. SPPP’s Michigan attorneys attended the ICLE Labor and Employment Law Seminar this week, where Sarah Prescott presented the ADA updates and Jen Salvatore moderated the HR track and spoke on difficult issues facing HR professionals. It was great to see so many of our colleagues in the labor and employment law section of the State Bar of Michigan!

SPPP said goodbye this week to one of our longest-term employees, Ashlyn Lawson- who is leaving us after eight years to start graduate school.

Ashlyn started working at SPPP when she was 16 years old. She worked with us all through her college years, showing tremendous dedication and commitment as she developed from a part time high school intern into a full time paralegal.

Ashlyn has been not only an integral part of our team, but she cares deeply about our clients and has been a wonderful colleague and friend.

She will be missed!

SPPP congratulates our former summer intern Ashlin Stover who is one of 100 students nationally and the first student at MSU to receive a Voyager Scholarship for Public Service - a prestigious recognition that comes with a scholarship and a 10-year travel stipend as well as access to mentors and leaders to provide support for her public interest work. Congratulations, Ashlin! We are so proud of you!

SPPP congratulates Jennifer Salvatore! She has been recognized by the Michigan Super Lawyers as one of the Top 50 Women, Top 100 Lawyers, and Top Labor & Employment Lawyers in Michigan for 2025.

Super Lawyers is a rating service that recognizes lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made through a process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.

Meet our Interns!

The best part about summer at SPPP is the chance to welcome and work with students interested in learning more about the legal profession. This summer we are thrilled to have Ashlin Stover and Katherine Malloure as our summer interns.

Ashlin is a graduate of Northville High School and is a current student at Michigan State University's James Madison College, where she is majoring in International Relations with a Minor in Business.

Katherine is a graduate of Greenhills High School and is currently at Boston College studying political science and Slavic studies. Ashlin and Katherine have been outstanding additions to our team this summer!
