Our Firm is proud to be a part of an art installation by 8th graders at the Northfield Middle School, called CHALK TALK, with artist in residence Wing Young Huie.

We are thrilled to support the arts in our schools, and our fabulous local art students and art teachers!

Here is a bit more about the project: As a part of the workshop, Wing led students through a process he calls Chalk Talk. Students discussed a set of purposeful questions with a partner to develop a personal statement. Then, they wrote their statement on a chalk board and photographed each other holding their chalkboards. These are the photographs we will display throughout downtown Northfield.

The Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee is proud to announce that Earl Weinmann has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award, the community’s highest recognition for exemplary service to the Northfield community.

For nearly three decades, Weinmann has been one of Northfield’s most influential
educators, historians, and civic volunteers. He served as a Social Studies teacher in
Northfield Public Schools for close to 30 years, where he became widely known for
bringing local history to life through experiential learning, civic engagement, and youth leadership.

Beyond the classroom, Weinmann’s impact has been transformative. Since the early
1990s, he has volunteered extensively with the Northfield History Center and Bank
Museum, becoming widely regarded as one of the foremost experts on the
James–Younger Gang and the 1876 raid. Since 1998, he has trained and led both the
Adult Posse and Junior Posse, preparing more than 1,300 Northfield students to serve as tour guides and ambassadors for the community—an effort consistently praised by visitors from around the globe.

Jacqueline A. Dorsey is a Principal at the firm Hvistendahl, Moersch, Dorsey & Hahn, P.A. and previously served as a Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation Board member for 11 years.

I have partnered with the Foundation for many years in several different capacities. I was first introduced to the Foundation through my involvement with Women in Northfield Giving Support (WINGS).

At WINGS we are committed to engaging women in philanthropy in ways that strengthen our community by investing in the lives of women and youth. The Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation holds and manages the funds that WINGS invests in the community.

I also intersect with the Foundation through my work as an attorney, where I focus on estates and trusts, real estate, and business law. My clients face many life events where developing a philanthropic plan is beneficial for multiple reasons.

In providing the best possible guidance, I have made numerous referrals to the Foundation. In doing so, I know I am putting my clients in touch with experts who can partner with them to develop giving plans that realize the visions they hold for their communities, families and legacies.
