Have a nice long weekend. Our office will be closed on Monday 5/25 in observance of Memorial Day.
Long holiday weekends can be met with a variety of emotions. You might be looking ahead and thinking about getting a bit more sleep, reading a book, or getting outside for a walk or bike ride. A long weekend means restoration to you. Or the long weekend might look a bit too blank for you; the lack of structure and planned social time may leave you feeling empty in your bones. For still others, the holiday might be replete with memories of past holidays, some of which were conflict laden or difficult family interactions.
No matter how you anticipate the days ahead, just know that you’re not alone in whatever shows up for you. There is no “right” way to feel about a long weekend. Give yourself permission to meet this time with curiosity instead of judgment.
If rest is what you need, allow yourself that space to slow down. If the quiet feels uncomfortable, consider reaching out to someone you trust or building in small points of connection or structure. And if difficult memories or emotions surface, remember that support is available; you don’t have to carry those feelings by yourself.
Taking care of your well-being can be as simple as pausing, checking in with yourself, and choosing one small, supportive step.
Although our offices are closed on Monday, May 25, our phones are answered 24/7. Reach out if you need help.
