This is what it’s all about.

Every year, one of our favorite traditions is bringing the CENTURY 21 Atwood family together for LAUNCH, a night dedicated to celebration, gratitude, food, fellowship and the people who make this company what it is.

Agents and team members come together from communities across Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Iowa. For one night, the miles between our offices disappear.

We celebrate accomplishments.
We recognize one another.
We share stories and laughs.
And, most importantly, we spend time together.

Because as our footprint has grown, we’ve worked hard to make sure something else grows with it, our sense of family.

And that family extends far beyond CENTURY 21 Atwood.

Over the years, we’ve been honored to have leaders from CENTURY 21 join us at LAUNCH, including COO Greg Sexton and CEO Mike Miedler, who have taken the time to travel to Minnesota simply to celebrate alongside our agents.

That means a lot to us.

When we say our relationship with CENTURY 21 is about more than a franchise agreement, this is what we mean.

DAY 45 | 6 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

Some partnerships expand a company.

Others bring together decades of history that were already running on parallel tracks.

Our next chapter came when CENTURY 21 Premier Group of Saint Louis Park, led by Steve Dock and Dave Hicks, became part of the CENTURY 21 Atwood family.

Premier Group brought with it a deeply established presence in the Twin Cities metro and western Wisconsin. The company described itself as a family-owned brokerage with more than 45 years of experience and thousands of buyers and sellers served along the way.

And woven into that story was another important CENTURY 21 legacy:

CENTURY 21 Luger Realty.

Jim and Judy Luger founded Luger Realty in 1976, building a company around relationships and adapting through decades of change in the real estate industry. Jim later reflected that while technology transformed nearly everything about how Realtors communicate, the heart of the business never changed: relationships and representing clients well.

There’s something remarkable about that year.

1976 was also the year Atwood Realty joined CENTURY 21.

Two companies.
Two family stories.
Two CENTURY 21 legacies beginning in the same year.

Nearly five decades later, those paths came together.

With Steve and Dave’s leadership, Jim Luger’s legacy, and a talented group of experienced agents, this partnership strengthened CENTURY 21 Atwood’s presence throughout the Twin Cities and brought another extraordinary group of professionals into our company.

And just as with the partnerships before it, the goal wasn’t to erase what had been built.

It was to honor it, connect it, and give it an even bigger future.

DAY 44 | 7 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

Some partnerships add offices.

Others add people who help shape what the company becomes next.

Our next chapter came when Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate All Seasons joined the CENTURY 21 Atwood family, bringing offices in Minnetonka, Chanhassen, Monticello and Winsted along with a team that had spent decades building relationships throughout the Twin Cities, west metro and central Minnesota.

At the center of that story was Kevin Sharkey.

Long before our companies came together, Kevin and his wife Linda had built All Seasons around an idea we immediately understood: a brokerage should do more than process transactions.

It should help its agents grow.

Kevin had spent decades creating businesses, mentoring real estate professionals and finding better ways to give agents the tools, training and independence they needed to succeed. That philosophy helped turn a small independent brokerage into a significant multi-office company and eventually Minnesota’s Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate franchise.

So when All Seasons became part of CENTURY 21 Atwood, this wasn’t simply about adding dots to a map.

It was about bringing together two Minnesota companies that believed deeply in entrepreneurship, relationships and taking care of the people who make the business possible.

The partnership expanded our presence into new communities and brought another talented group of agents into our family.

But it brought something else, too:

Leadership.

Kevin didn’t simply become part of CENTURY 21 Atwood. He continued helping us become better, and today serves as our Designated Broker, helping lead the company into its next chapter.

Different brands brought us together.

Shared values made us one company.

More offices.
More great agents.
More of Minnesota connected together.

And another reminder that the very best acquisitions aren’t really about companies.

They’re about people.

DAY 43 | 8 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

Some people inherit a legacy.

Others make a decision that changes what that legacy will become.

In December 2021, we said goodbye to Charles “Chuck” Atwood, the man whose vision brought Atwood Realty and CENTURY 21 together nearly five decades earlier.

Chuck was already the fourth generation of the Atwood family to carry forward a real estate business that began in 1867.

But he became the first generation of our CENTURY 21 story.

On October 14, 1976, Chuck made the decision to join a young and ambitious real estate franchise called CENTURY 21. He believed that pairing the strength of an established family company with the resources, innovation and reach of a national brand could create something even greater.

History proved him right.

That decision shaped the company his son Tom would later lead, the company his four grandsons would eventually inherit, and the CENTURY 21 Atwood family we know today.

And there’s one little piece of the story that has always felt especially meaningful to us:

Our CENTURY 21 anniversary is October 14.
Chuck’s birthday is October 15.

So when we celebrate 50 years with CENTURY 21 this year, we’ll spend two days celebrating something that has always been intertwined anyway, the partnership he created and the man who made it possible.

Chuck’s impact reaches far beyond a franchise agreement.

It lives in his family.
In the company he helped shape.
In generations of agents who built careers here.
In clients and communities served along the way.
And in an industry he believed could always become better.

He gave the next generations something extraordinary to carry forward.

A family legacy that began long before CENTURY 21, and a CENTURY 21 legacy that began with him.

We miss him.

And this October, we’ll celebrate him twice. 💛

DAY 42 | 9 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

For the last several days, we’ve shared stories about growth through partnerships.

Rochester was different.

There wasn’t an existing brokerage joining the CENTURY 21 Atwood family.

There wasn’t a team already in place.

This time, we built something new.

In 2021, CENTURY 21 Atwood expanded into Rochester, Minnesota, entering one of the state’s most dynamic real estate markets with a new team, new relationships and a fresh opportunity to grow our presence in southeastern Minnesota.

On June 9, we officially launched that chapter with a ribbon cutting through the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce.

It was an important milestone because it proved something different about our growth.

We didn’t always have to expand by acquiring another company.

Sometimes we could enter a market by building from the ground up.

Agent by agent.
Client by client.
Relationship by relationship.

Rochester became another place where we could bring the CENTURY 21 Atwood culture to life, work hard, serve people well, support one another, and build trust one experience at a time.

And while the shape of our presence in a market can evolve over time, our commitment to serving that community doesn’t disappear.

That’s part of growth too.

Sometimes growth means planting roots.

Sometimes it means learning, adapting and finding new ways to serve.

But every market we’ve entered has helped shape the company we are today.

Rochester was one of those chapters, a bold step into southeastern Minnesota and proof that CENTURY 21 Atwood could build from scratch, not just grow through acquisition.

As CENTURY 21 Atwood continued to grow, our next partnership brought us to a community where relationships have always mattered.

Professional Pride Realty of Northfield, Minnesota, led by broker/owner Pete Mergens, joined the CENTURY 21 Atwood family.

And from the beginning, the fit went much deeper than real estate.

Pete had built Professional Pride around two simple principles: honesty and integrity. The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce wrote about how those values shaped not only the way Pete conducted business, but the team he built and the way they served their clients.

Professional Pride had become part of the fabric of Northfield, earning recognition as the Chamber’s 2015 Business of the Year, supporting community events, and building a team of professionals who knew the neighborhoods and the people who called them home.

That was exactly what we wanted to preserve.

Because joining CENTURY 21 Atwood wasn’t about asking a successful local brokerage to become something different.

It was about putting more behind what already made it special.

More tools.
More resources.
A larger network of colleagues.
The power of the CENTURY 21 brand.

But the same people.
The same relationships.
And the same commitment to Northfield.

Pete once described his philosophy by saying that real estate ultimately comes back to relationships, treating every client with the same care, regardless of the size of the transaction.

That philosophy felt very familiar to us.

Today, Pete continues to lead as a CENTURY 21 Atwood Managing Broker in Northfield, and the Professional Pride name remains part of the identity of the team that grew there.

A hometown company. A hometown leader. And another great local team becoming part of our family.

DAY 40 | 11 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

As CENTURY 21 Atwood continued to grow, our next partnership brought us somewhere that already felt a little familiar.

CENTURY 21 Red Shoe Realty, previously known for years as CENTURY 21 Koeckeritz Realty, joined the CENTURY 21 Atwood family, bringing established offices in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye, Minnesota with it.

This wasn’t a new real estate company trying to find its footing.

It was a team that already knew its communities.

By the time the Red Shoe name debuted in 2018, the brokerage had 11 agents in New Ulm along with its Sleepy Eye office, serving everything from residential homes and rural properties to land, commercial real estate and development.

Just like so many of the partnerships that shaped our growth, the opportunity wasn’t about replacing what had been built.

It was about honoring it and giving it more behind it.

The familiar agents stayed local.
The relationships stayed local.
The knowledge of New Ulm, Sleepy Eye and the surrounding communities stayed local.

But now those agents were connected to an even larger CENTURY 21 Atwood network stretching across Minnesota and beyond.

There’s also something fitting about two long-running CENTURY 21 stories coming together. From Koeckeritz Realty, to Red Shoe Realty, and ultimately to CENTURY 21 Atwood, the name on the door evolved, but the commitment to serving southern Minnesota remained.

Today, CENTURY 21 Atwood continues to serve New Ulm, carrying forward that local presence as another chapter in a much bigger family story.

Different names through the years. The same local roots. And another CENTURY 21 family becoming part of ours.

DAY 39 | 12 DAYS TO 50 YEARS

Some partnerships feel like they were decades in the making.

In March 2020, CENTURY 21 Vista joined the CENTURY 21 Atwood family, bringing four established offices with it: Fergus Falls, Battle Lake and Ottertail, Minnesota, along with Wahpeton, North Dakota.

And there was something especially fitting about this partnership.

CENTURY 21 Vista had been serving the lakes region since 1976, the very same year Atwood Realty began its own relationship with CENTURY 21.

For decades, Vista and its longtime broker/owner Alan Olson had built a strong local reputation across western Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. Its business stretched across lakeshore homes, residential real estate, farms and land, commercial property and more, all rooted in deep knowledge of the communities it served.

When our companies came together, that local expertise didn’t disappear.

It gained more behind it.

More resources.
A larger network.
More opportunities for agents.
And stronger connections for clients moving throughout Minnesota and North Dakota.

For CENTURY 21 Atwood, this partnership was another major milestone.

Four offices joined our family at once. And for the first time, our footprint officially reached into North Dakota.

What began generations earlier as one real estate company in southern Minnesota was becoming something much broader, while still growing the same way we always believed it should:
