Many of you have probably received similar texts either from Minnesota or other states. Here is an alert that MNDOT released regarding these scam tactics. DO NOT provide any personal information and DO NOT click on any links! Report the text/email as junk/phishing and delete.

On Monday, January 27th our Executive Director Scott Wopata will run the 2025 Arrowhead Ultramarathon. This race is billed as one of the toughest cold-weather endurance tests on the planet. It covers a distance equivalent to more than five marathons. Runners travel alone, through the night, across a frigid, isolated landscape. Scott's journey to this race is paved in multiple successful, record breaking ultramarathons across the country. His strength, leadership, and endurance are an inspiration to us all both on the trail and in our community. For those who don't know Scott, he's the Executive Director of the Community Action Center, husband to Allyson Wopata, and dad of 4 awesome kiddos. This will be his first time taking on this specific race, although he's had a lot of experience over the last few years running some challenging ultramarathons! The message here goes for all of the adults out there - not just the ones engaged in risky hobbies! (This picture is one of the bumper stickers that will adorn Scott's sled.)

Next up, a "motto" idea that didn't make it to the "sled bumper sticker phase" but is still worth sharing: "Got Will?" (Clever, right?!)

This picture gives a sneak peak of the true willpower it takes to train for and tackle this race. This is Scott pulling the sled full of survival gear that is required for all participants.

Scott's got will(power) in spades!

Our firm is excited to sponsor Scott Wopata as he takes on the Arrowhead 135 (https://arrowheadultra.com) starting on January 27th! Scott will run 135 miles in International Falls while pulling a sled full of things that will keep him hydrated, fueled, and (hopefully!) warm.

Over the next few weeks, we'll share some of our (ridiculous? snarky? tonge-in-cheek?) bumper sticker mottos we came up with for his sled!
