Per Mortgage News Daily (updated Oct 15): 30-year fixed 7.33% (-0.12). 15-year fixed 6.98% (-0.16). FHA 6.98% (-0.15). Jumbo 7.65% (+0.03). VA 7.00% (-0.15). 7/6 SOFR ARM 6.79% (-0.06).

MND MBS Commentary: "Exciting Times, But Don't Get Too Excited." Bonds rallied despite hot inflation data (Core PPI 0.7% vs 0.3% forecast), helped by an AI/tech pullback and value buying at high yields (UMBS 30YR 6.0 99.09, +0.49; 10-year 5.069%, -0.112). A federal emergency declaration sounds broader than it may be.

FEMA's announcement names 27 Florida counties under the Hurricane Isaias emergency declaration (EM-3655-FL). The current action authorizes emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance. It does not, by itself, establish Individual Assistance, direct homeowner payments or automatic mortgage relief.

The practical move is to verify the exact county designation and program before assuming help is available. For a mortgage question, that also means contacting your current servicer and checking the selected lender's requirements. Insurance claims remain a separate process with the carrier.

More assistance could be added later, but it is not confirmed until FEMA publishes it.
