Parents: that “e-bike” could land your child in criminal court.

“But it’s electric!” doesn’t automatically make it a legal electric bicycle under Florida law.

No pedals? High-powered motor? That electric dirt bike may fall into a completely different legal category, with licensing, registration and street-use requirements.

Riding around the neighborhood can lead to more than a warning. Depending on the vehicle and circumstances, riders can face criminal traffic charges.

Before buying one for your child, check what it actually is, where it can legally be ridden and what the rider needs to operate it.

🛵 A ride to Pilates could come with a criminal charge.

Vespas are everywhere in South Beach. But before you hop on that stylish scooter, check the engine size and your license.

In Florida, a scooter with an engine over 50cc requires a motorcycle endorsement or a motorcycle-only license. Riding without the proper license can lead to a second-degree misdemeanor charge. 🚨

That 150cc or 300cc Vespa? A regular driver’s license alone doesn’t cover it.

Before your next coffee run, gym session, or beach day, make sure you’re properly licensed.

📸 California drivers: Your next speeding ticket could arrive in the mail—without a traffic stop.

Speed cameras are expanding across Southern California, including Los Angeles, Long Beach and Malibu.

🚦 LA’s first cameras are scheduled to activate October 26, with up to 125 locations planned.
⚠️ Long Beach has already started issuing warnings.
📍 Malibu is testing cameras along Pacific Coast Highway.

Going live doesn’t mean immediate fines. These programs begin with a 60-day warning period. Once paid enforcement starts, driving 11 mph or more over the posted limit can trigger a citation, with fines ranging from $50 to $500.
