Johnson Law Firm limits its practice to “Family Law.” Specifically, that extends to most legal issues surrounding the establishment and dissolution of a marriage. Issues such as the divorce itself, the custody and support of the children and the equitable division of the marital assets and debts. Johnson d/b/a “Johnson Law Firm.”

From 1990 to the present, Jan Grant-Johnson has been a solo practitioner of Family Law. In 2005, Jan Grant-Johnson was joined in the business by Michael D. Johnson, her son. “Jan and Mike” continue to be advocates for the interests of their clients. Jan and Mike are both certified mediators and also perform Guardian Ad Litem work, either court appointed or private pay, representing children in hostile divorces. If we could choose the most helpful hint to give to you prior to entering into this unknown arena, of family law, we would stress that you obtain the advice of independent counsel before entering into or signing any legal papers (divorce or otherwise). That is why we each give any potential client a free 30-minute consultation in our office by appointment. As we see it, you only have three choices when the D-word arises- – (1) continue to live in the hell you’re in; (2) Get professional counseling and work on the problems to save the marriage; or (3) Get a divorce. Your years of marriage, your children and all your worldly goods are at stake. It’s worth first trying to see if it can be put back together, and, if not, to get free legal advice on your options. People spend thousands of dollars on wedding planning. Why wouldn’t they do the same on divorce planning?
