PIABA has officially released its letter to the U.S. Senate regarding the CLARITY Act⚠️

Without:
1️⃣ Mandatory antifraud policies with dedicated compliance staff.
2️⃣ Preservation of private rights of action and state anti-fraud enforcement.
3️⃣ Strong, durable consumer protections.

Senators should reject any cryptocurrency market structure legislation that does not meet these standards.

More than 50 PIABA members filed individual responses in opposition to FINRA’s proposed changes to the Outside Business Rule.

“The proposed rule, even as amended, does nothing to change the fact that it represents the most erosive change to supervisory requirements under the Exchange Act and worse, provides unscrupulous advisors with a road map on how to evade supervision to commit fraud and violate securities laws, all to the detriment of the investing public.”
