We have been trusted with the upbringing of an artist in Avery. I say often Avery is the answer to a prayer I did not know how to pray. My devotional this morning reminded me our goal in life should to become smaller so that the word of the Lord can be known become bigger. To know Avery is to be humbled by the greatness of God’s glory. So I am grateful for just how unique He made her to be. He has blessed us with her and we are so very privileged and blessed to be the ones entrusted with her upbringing. The A in Avery stands for art!

I love supporting my community, and am so proud of my team.

We love supporting our local community!
On April 4th, some of the team participated in the Operation School Bell 5k, that was hosted by Assistance League Norman. We also were one of the sponsors, which helps provide clothing, shoes, books, and essentials to local students so they can attend school with confidence and succeed!

This is what it’s all about. Stay with me…because I don’t mean the T-shirt itself or even the great team name. A couple weeks ago, while watching a young volleyball team warm-up, I told them how good their jerseys looked and if they had an adult medium laying around, I’d love one.

Last night, I was presented with my very own Hotshots jersey! And it’s not about the merch, it’s truly about encouraging young women in the endeavor of Volleyball, the ballet on the court, and how it translates to lessons in life.

Now, of course, so as not to give any impression of impropriety, I won’t wear a team shirt when I’m serving in my league Director role. But that’s Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today, I’m an honorary Hot
shot!

It’s quarterly planner changeover time!

If you know me, you’re likely aware that I’m a pen-and-paper planner die-hard. A list person. A jotter. And color-coded ink reliant. And for the last 7 years, I’ve been designing, printing, and binding my own personalized planner. My life involves an eclectic blend of court dates, school spirit days, meetings, and tournaments. This planner is my external brain, whittled, tailored, edited and adapted with every iteration and each added responsibility.

The building and binding process has become a bit of a ceremony at the end of one quarter and the beginning of another. I recenter my goals, reflect on seasons, and refocus on what’s upcoming. Tomorrow opens a new quarter and a new planner will be deployed. May the possibilities abound! So long Q1. Happy Q2 friends!
