OKLAHOMA MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING EXPLOSION IN SAND SPRINGS

SAND SPRINGS, OK - On August 27, 2026, the Sand Springs Police Department and Sand Springs Fire Marshal requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a property explosion.
At approximately 1:14 a.m., officers with the Sand Springs Police Department responded to a reported explosion at 411 South Lincoln Avenue in Sand Springs. When officers arrived on scene, they found a local business that had been severely damaged.
While officers were processing the scene, they located one individual deceased and another injured.
The adult male who suffered injuries was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he later passed away.
The victim found deceased on scene was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for positive identification.
There were no other injuries during the incident.
The OSBI, along with several other agencies, began processing the scene and working to determine what caused the explosion.
Based on the information and evidence obtained, the Tulsa County District Attorney's Office filed a felony arrest warrant for 35-year-old Ryan Bassham on two counts of First-Degree Murder.
On August 30, 2026, Bassham turned himself into the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office and was booked into the Tulsa County Jail.
