WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CHILD MISSES TOO MANY DAYS OF SCHOOL?
Today, Taequan Kates, Director of LASEV'S Disability Rights Unit, discusses truancy and the potential legal consequences if your child has too many unexcused absences. We'll review the meaning because unexcused versus excused absences and give some general examples of solutions that may be offered by your school to help your child get back into the classroom. All school systems are different, so it's important to check your district's policies or speak with an attorney if you have concerns about truancy. Save this video, share it with another parent and check out our other videos on this page to learn more about your student's rights at school!
Our Disability Rights Unit is taking over LASEV's social media pages to get parents and students up to speed on their legal rights this Back to School season. Our office provides FREE legal services to qualifying Virginians in matters such as education, family law, public benefit denials and more.
