Obviously being from the state of CT I’ve always been a HUGE UConn fan! As a young boy, I remember watching March Madness games with my father and always hoping for the Huskies to go far in the tournament. I was in middle school back in 1999 when they beat Duke to win their first National Championship, and recall it being like a holiday the next day at school! Since we don’t have any major professional sports teams in CT…I, like most of us, have always treated the basketball teams (both Men & Women) like our state’s pro teams and follow them closely throughout the season. Tonight’s matchup will certainly be a tough one as Michigan reminds me of the Monstars from the movie Space Jam, but unlike the rest of the nation, I NEVER count out UConn. Especially on this stage with the stakes set so high. It has truly been remarkable to see UConn develop from what seemed like a miracle back in 1999, to winning multiple titles, sending countless star players to the NBA, and transforming into the power house program that they are today! I always have and always will love this state and UConn, along with the comradery that comes with it. Go Huskies! nationalchampionship
