Child Custody: many people are confused about this term. Custody means decision-making. Does Johnny get ear tubes? Does Ramiah play soccer? Does Sammy get a tutor? The law presumes that parents should equally make decisions. If one parent believes that joint decision-making (custody) does not serve the best interests of the children, they have to move the ball off the 50-yard line with evidence of why joint custody does not serve the best interests of the children.

In 2024, our Women, Children, and Family Shelter served 206 individuals—each with their own stories and circumstances.

We believe everyone deserves access to the basic essentials that help them feel cared for today—and confident as they work toward their futures.

Right now, our shelter is in need of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. These simple items can make a huge difference!

Our outreach team sets up harm reduction and testing sites at various times and locations throughout the region, including tomorrow evening when we'll be at The Cornerstone Fellowship in Covington from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Stop by and pick up some free Narcan, overdose education materials, and harm reduction supplies. We're also offering free HIV, HepC and syphilis testing. We offer many ways to help make you healthy.

This month is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. At NKYCAC we know that it is a sad reality that those with developmental disabilities are more vulnerable to abuse. As a result we are prepared to help children and adults with developmental disabilities to tell their story in whatever way suits them best.
