Episode 9 is live!

Divorcing a Narcissist is the newest episode of Irreconcilable: The Divorce Podcast, and it is the episode more of you have asked for than any other.

A narcissist does not settle because it is fair. They do not co-parent because it is right. They use the court system to maintain control, drag out litigation to exhaust you financially and emotionally, and rewrite every conversation to make you look like the problem. If you have ever tried to reason with someone who treats compromise as weakness, you already know what we are talking about.

In this episode, the Sullivan Law team covers how to recognize narcissistic patterns during a divorce, why these cases require a completely different legal strategy from the start, how manipulation and gaslighting show up in custody evaluations and courtroom testimony, the financial tactics narcissists use to hide assets and weaponize support, and why tools like grey rocking, parallel parenting, and structured communication are not optional in these cases.

This is not a diagnosis. It is a reality check. And if you are living it, you are not imagining it.

Same divorce. Two completely different approaches. Two completely different outcomes.

Emotional divorce looks like reacting to every provocation. Sending long, heated texts at midnight. Fighting over items that have sentimental value but no financial impact. Making decisions based on anger, hurt, or the need to prove a point. Rejecting offers without evaluating them. Venting on social media. Treating every disagreement as a battle that must be won.

Strategic divorce looks like pausing before responding. Communicating through a co-parenting app or email so everything is documented. Knowing which issues actually affect custody, support, and property division. Evaluating settlement offers based on after-tax value and long-term impact. Letting your attorney handle the conflict so you can focus on your children and your future. Choosing outcomes over emotions.

The difference between these two approaches is not about how much you care. It is about how you channel that energy. The most strategic clients we work with feel everything just as deeply. They just do not let those feelings make their legal decisions for them.

That distinction is the difference between a divorce that sets you back and one that sets you up.

We dig into this in Episode 8 of Irreconcilable: The Divorce Podcast. Link in bio.

Why 'irreconcilable differences' is the perfect title for a divorce podcast. It's the legal term that signifies a complete breakdown, beyond repair. Tomato, tomato... it's the language of divorce.
