These were two recent hard-fought settlements.

The first case involved a passenger in a Tesla who was injured when the driver drove straight into a wall, causing the passenger to suffer a tibial plateau fracture. We represented the passenger and had to overcome the defense argument that the passenger was not wearing her seatbelt and her injury would not have happened if she was.

The second case involved a driver involved in a sideswipe accident with minimal visible property damage and prior back injuries who underwent epidural injections and a microdiscectomy. We had to overcome a tough causation argument with regard to the client’s injuries and treatment. We also had to prove he was acting within the course and scope of his employment to unlock the full underinsured motorist coverage afforded by his employer.

Great result for our client on a recent business dispute case. Litigation was extremely contentious, requiring a discovery referee, and Plaintiff overcame the Defendant's delay tactics. The terms of the contract and amount owed to the Plaintiff were vigorously disputed. The settlement came after Plaintiff prevailed on key Motions in Limine at Trial and the amount was 20 times greater than the Defendant originally offered to pay at the start of litigation.

When this case came to our office it had been turned down by several PI firms because of the difficulty of (1) proving liability with minimal evidence, and (2) relating the decedent’s untimely death to the complications stemming from her injury. After a long battle, we were able to provide justice and closure for this family.

Great result in a very tough premises cases for our deserving client who was a 63-year old woman who was injured when she exited the door of defendant's restaurant and did not notice the immediate 5-inch drop off outside of the door and onto the public sidewalk. She fell and sustain a traumatic brain injury, which was nearly asymptomatic and not treated until two months later. The defendant initially offered $40,000.00 to settle the claim, but Meissner Law Firm was able to obtain a large settlement despite the heavily disputed liability and lack of witnesses or physical evidence of the accident.
