“We're moving to Newport Beach"

I hear it all the time, and my first question is always: which Newport?

Because it's not one place. It's at least seven, and they're barely the same city. Balboa Island, where you'll know your neighbors in a week. Lido Isle with its sailing culture. Corona del Mar's walk-to-the-beach village. Eastbluff and Dover Shores, where a lot of families actually land, Dover Shores backing right up to the Back Bay.

Same city. Completely different daily life.
