Getting arrested is stressful but getting out isn’t always simple. ⚖️

In Georgia, bond depends on the charges, your history, and the situation. And in cases like probation violations or serious felonies, bond can be much harder to get.

Knowing your rights and having the right attorney can make all the difference.

Your phone is one of the biggest sources of evidence police can use against you.

If law enforcement asks for your phone, your passcode, or to “just take a quick look.” You have the right to say no. Even with a warrant, they cannot force you to give your passcode.

Don’t give up your rights. What’s on your phone can be taken out of context and used against you.

Think your case goes away if the victim drops charges? Think again.

In Georgia, the prosecutor, not the victim, decides whether a case moves forward. Even without the victim, charges can still stick.

Don’t rely on assumptions and know your rights.

Police say they “just want your side of the story”? 🚨

Be careful, that “voluntary” interview is often a setup to get statements they can use against you. If you’re not under arrest, you don’t have to go and they don’t have to read you your rights.

Best move: stay calm, say you want a lawyer, and don’t answer questions without one. Your silence is your protection.

In the 2024 Apalachee High School shooting in Georgia, two students and two teachers were killed in just 41 seconds.

The 14-year-old suspect faces 55 felony charges but prosecutors also charged his father, arguing he ignored serious warning signs and allowed his son access to a firearm.

The case raises a major legal question: when can parents be held criminally responsible for a child’s actions? The verdict could influence how prosecutors approach similar cases across the country.

Can police demand your ID without a reason?

In this case, an off-duty officer tried to force a driver to identify himself in a parking lot. When backup arrived, the responding officer confirmed there was no reasonable suspicion and no legal obligation to provide ID.

Kudos to this driver for remaining calm.

Not all drug charges are the same.

Possession is having drugs for personal use, while distribution involves selling or sharing, even without money exchanging hands. The difference can dramatically affect your penalties and case outcome.

If you’re facing drug charges in Georgia, it’s crucial to know your rights and get experienced legal guidance.
