When law enforcement or Title IX officers judge survivors for how and when survivors report sexual assault — as they struggle to describe what happened to them, report and process on their timelines, or even remain in touch with someone who harmed them — the system perpetuates abuse, rather than correcting it.

STATEMENT: New York City—home to millions of immigrants—has been an epicenter of violent and cruel immigration enforcement, and tonight ICE escalated by senselessly shooting a man with his child in the backseat. ICE has no place in our streets, in our courts, and in our city. Abolish ICE.

We were thrilled to meet with older adults & their caregivers at State Sen. Krueger’s Older Adult Resource Fair in Lenox Hill, where NYLAG showed up to provide information on Medicare, Medicaid, home care, and other resources New Yorkers need for their health & wellbeing.

Immigrant New Yorkers shouldn't have to choose between medical access, housing stability, and food or their pathway to legal permanent residency. This new rule change will not only harm the low-income immigrants we serve; it will also harm NYLAG's ability to provide holistic legal services for thousands of New Yorkers. That’s why The Legal Aid Society, Democracy Forward, and Center for Constitutional Rights are suing the Trump administration to stop them from making it harder for immigrant families to afford to survive.

We’re putting bad landlords on notice 🛑 The Zar Brothers keep racking up housing code violations, endangering the safety and wellbeing of tenants at 2440 Walton Ave. 10 tenants, with us on their side, are demanding that a court-appointed administrator take over their building. Enough is enough.
