$2.8 MILLION SETTLEMENT | BRONX CONSTRUCTION ACCIDENT

Liakas Law Associate Eric Goldman secured a $2.8 million settlement for a nonunion construction worker who was injured when the roof gave way beneath him during roof-removal work, causing him to fall partially through the opening.

The case settled while our motion for summary judgment was pending in Bronx County.

A retired NYPD detective is now charged with murder in connection with Mr. Irvine’s death. Today, we begin asking serious questions that must be answered: Why was Romero allowed to retire in 2001 before a full investigation could be completed into an earlier off-duty shooting? And why was he allowed to retain the authorization to carry a fi***rm?

The murder of the four children in Mechanicville, NY is heartbreaking, and the questions surrounding the years leading up to their deaths deserve answers.

As the Times Union reported, Liakas Law Partner and Chair of the Civil Rights Division Cassandra Rohme said the mishandling of the children’s abuse and the county’s alleged inadequate response leading up to their murders “goes beyond negligence.”
