$1.65 MILLION SETTLEMENT FOR INJURED MANHATTAN CONSTRUCTION WORKER

Liakas Law secured a $1.65 million settlement at mediation for a non-union laborer who was struck by a falling object while working at a Manhattan construction site. As a result of the accident, the client required arthroscopic procedures involving multiple extremities.

Liakas Law Associate Eric Goldman litigated and successfully resolved the personal injury action at mediation, securing substantial compensation without the need for trial.

Liakas Law also represented the client in the related Workers’ Compensation claim, coordinating both matters and securing a separate Section 32 settlement. Together, the resolutions provided compensation through both the third-party construction accident action and the Workers’ Compensation system.

$2.35 MILLION RECOVERY FOR INJURED BRONX LABORER

Liakas Law secured a $2.35 million settlement at mediation for a Bronx laborer who was struck by an out of control debris cart while working on a ramp at a construction site.

The firm secured summary judgment in November 2025, establishing liability before the case proceeded to mediation. The matter was handled by Senior Partner and Chair of the Labor Law Division Sagar Chadha, together with our Workers’ Compensation Division, which handled the related workers’ compensation claim.

$2.6 MILLION SETTLEMENT FOR MANHATTAN CONSTRUCTION WORKER

Liakas Law secured a $2.6 million settlement for a laborer who was injured when construction materials fell from above and struck him while working at a Manhattan construction site.

The construction accident case was handled by partner Sagar Chadha, Chair of the Liakas Law Construction Accident Team, with associat Shahar Azoulay filing a motion for summary judgment under New York Labor Law § 240(1). The case resolved while the motion was pending.

The related Workers’ Compensation claim was handled by Partner and Chair of the Liakas Law Workers’ Compensation Department, Charlemagne Yawn, reflecting our ability to protect injured workers across every aspect of their claims.

Liakas Law is proud to announce a $2,185,000 settlement obtained on behalf of a pedestrian who suffered a serious closed head injury after being struck by a delivery vehicle while crossing the street mid block.

The case was handled by Founding Partner Stephen Liakas and Partner Boris Bernstein, who successfully resolved the matter through mediation after aggressively advocating for our client.
