In recognition of Juneteenth, Bryant Rabbino LLP honors this important day in American history, when Texas formally enforced the Emancipation Proclamation, marking the end of slavery in the United States.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that enslaved African Americans in the state were free. Although the Emancipation Proclamation had declared enslaved African Americans in Confederate states legally free more than two years earlier, many remained enslaved until the enforcement of emancipation finally reached Texas.

For generations, Juneteenth has served as a celebration of freedom and a reflection on the resilience, contributions, and experiences of African Americans throughout our nation’s history. This day also provides an opportunity to recognize the progress that has been made while reflecting on the meaning of freedom and the ongoing fight for equality and justice.

A Black-owned firm, Bryant Rabbino recognizes the historical and cultural significance of Juneteenth and remains committed to advancing diversity, inclusion, equal opportunity, and justice.
