Linda Amato is a New York City-based attorney in private practice. Linda’s unique background in asset management, health care, and law have developed her expertise in estate-planning matters, enabling her to identify and create optimal plans for each of her clients. Linda is passionate about working with individuals, families, and businesses. She is dedicated to helping her clients avoid probate, and minimize Federal and State taxes. Linda understands that although most clients share many of the same concerns—such as tax planning, health care cost in the event of illness, and wealth preservation—she is committed to crafting the best possible, customized estate plan for every client. EXPERIENCE
Linda’s combined background in law, finance, and health care enables her to provide the highest-quality estate planning services to individuals, families, and businesses. Prior to forming her private practice, Linda worked with an asset management company owned by one of Europe’s largest private banks. Her practice focused on compliance, operational and regulatory matters related to investing in complex investment strategies. Linda’s top priority was protecting client assets. Prior to and post the Lehman crisis she took an active role in advising investment managers on counterparty risk and how to mitigate the risk of losing client money in the event of brokerage insolvency. Before her career in law, Linda worked in the health care industry where she advocated on behalf of her clients as a licensed clinical social worker. Her steep knowledge of entitlements—including Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans’ benefits, coupled with acting in the capacity of guardian and court-appointed evaluator are invaluable skills for an estate planning attorney. She is dedicated to providing her clients and their families with an unparalleled level of service, no matter the size of the estate. EDUCATION
In addition to her Master’s in Social Work from New York University, Linda earned her Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law. While in law school she ranked among the top 5% of her class, was a member of the law review and interned with the Hon. Nolan, United States District Court Northern District Court of Illinois. Linda is licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
