New Procedures for US visa application!

The US Embassy Manila announced that it is opening a new Visa Application Center (VAC) in Parqal Mall in Parañaque City.

Additionally, it is also launching an updated visa appointment system and is expanding its call center services to US citizens in the Philippines on
Sept. 28, 2024

The new VAC will offer appointment slots from 7
a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 7a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays. Those picking up passports or dropping off their interview waiver visa applications and other documents don't need to
schedule an appointment and can visit from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays.

Those who are applying for immigrant and nonimmigrant visas starting Sept. 28 must schedule a separate appointment at the VAC for
photo capture and fingerprint scanning prior to their interview at the US Embassy on Roxas Boulevard.

Meanwhile, applicants who have scheduled a visa interview before Sept. 28 will not be affected by the change.

According to the US Embassy, its new online appointment system will have a "secure and user-friendly" interface. Those with existing accounts can simply sign into the system and use their registered email addresses to access their profile.

The embassy is also launching a call center for customers for general inquiries, and passports, citizenship, and notarial service questions.

When traveling to the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires all AIR passengers to present a negative COVID-19 test (a viral detection test for SARS-CoV-2 approved or authorized by the relevant national authority), taken within 72 hours of departure. The Airlines will only allow passengers with negative test results to board. It goes without saying that the passenger must have the proper travel documents (valid passport, visa (if applicable), etc) to travel to the United States.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will temporarily suspend in-person services at all field offices, asylum offices and application support centers on Jan. 19 and 20 to ensure the safety of their employees and individuals with appointments on those dates.

Those with appointments scheduled on Jan. 19 and 20 will be given new appointment dates.
