At the federal level, an HSA can offer three tax advantages: eligible contributions are generally pre-tax or tax-deductible, earnings grow tax-free, and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax-free. The balance rolls over, too, so the account can help with today’s bills and future qualified medical expenses. What is one thing about your HSA that still feels unclear? Leave a comment or send us a message.

A common mix-up: “I’m covered — I have workers’ compensation.” Workers’ compensation generally covers work-related injuries and occupational illnesses. Disability insurance is designed to replace part of your income when a covered illness or injury keeps you from working, subject to the policy’s terms. Check both before you assume there is no gap. Send us your benefit summary, and we’ll help you identify the questions to ask.

Most people treat their HSA for the first time as a debit card. But it can do much more than pay today’s copays and prescriptions. At the federal level, eligible contributions are generally pre-tax or tax-deductible, earnings grow tax-free, and withdrawals for qualified medical expenses are tax-free. The balance also rolls over automatically and stays with you if you change jobs. Take five minutes today to check your balance, contribution amount, and investment options. If you are not sure what you are looking at, message me and I’ll help you sort through it.

A conversation we have often this time of year: a client bought life insurance right after having their first child and haven't looked at it since—now they've got two kids, a mortgage, and a very different life than the one that policy was built for.

The good news? Updating coverage is usually a lot simpler than people expect. A short conversation is often all it takes to see where you stand.

If that sounds familiar, you're not alone—and it's an easy thing to fix.

Just had a baby? Bought a house? Started a business this year?

Any one of those is a good reason to take five minutes and look at your life insurance—because the coverage that made sense before probably doesn't match the life you're building now.

Tag someone in the comments who just hit one of these milestones. It might be the nudge they need.

Quick one for Life Insurance Awareness Month:

When's the last time you actually looked at your life insurance policy?

A) Within the last year
B) A few years ago
C) Honestly... I don't remember

No judgment either way—drop your answer below. If it's B or C, that's usually a sign it's time for a quick check-in.

Myth: "I have life insurance through work, so I'm covered."

Truth: Employer life insurance is a great benefit—but it's usually 1–2x your salary, and it doesn't go with you if you leave the job. If that's the only coverage you have, there's a good chance it wouldn't cover your mortgage, let alone your family's day-to-day life for more than a year or two.

It's worth doing the math on what your family would actually need, not just what your employer happens to offer. Curious where you stand? Send me a message—happy to help you figure it out.

Most people have life insurance. But does it match their current life needs??

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month—a good excuse for a question we don't ask often enough: if your policy hasn't changed since you bought it, but your life has, is it actually doing its job?

A policy from ten years ago was built around a version of your life that may not exist anymore:

• A different income.
• A different mortgage.
• A different number of people counting on you.

Here's what many people don't realize: coverage doesn't automatically grow with your responsibilities. It's worth a quick review, not because something is wrong, but because it's been a while.

We're always here as a resource if you want a second set of eyes on where you stand.

💐 Celebrating Mom—Today and for the Years Ahead

Mother's Day is a time to honor everything Mom has done—and continues to do. It's also a natural moment to think about how we support her for the years ahead.

Women tend to live longer, which often means more years to plan for, a higher likelihood of needing care at some point, and sometimes navigating those years independently.

Not a heavy conversation—but an important one.

A simple question to start:
❝ If care is ever needed down the road, how would you want that to look? ❞

That one question can open the door to understanding preferences, exploring options, and making sure her wishes are known and respected.

Planning ahead isn't about expecting the worst—it's about protecting choices, independence, and peace of mind.

If this is a conversation you've been meaning to have, Mother's Day is a thoughtful time to start. And if you'd like help understanding what options exist, we're always here as a resource. 💛
