🏀🧡💙 Knicks fever is nothing new for Lisa Bonner ’97, pictured here (second from left) with The Originals – Crystal McCrary ’95 (far left), Rita Williams-Ewing (far right), and Tonya Lewis Lee. While Bonner and McCrary were attending NYU Law, their then husbands, Anthony Bonner and Greg Anthony, were part of the 90s Knicks team that consistently made the playoffs—a team that also included Patrick Ewing, husband of Howard University-trained lawyer Rita, with UVa Law alum Tonya accompanying superfan husband, director, and NYU Professor Spike Lee.

Now a successful entertainment lawyer, Bonner recently spoke to NYU Law about those exciting games at Madison Square Garden, taking Con Law with the late Professor Derrick Bell, and her friendship with The Originals that has survived for 30 years. “Back in the day, there was no social media. But we still had to deal with the paparazzi and the New York tabloids. And we were definitely living under a microscope in that sense. But when we were at the Knicks games, we always knew who we were.” Read the full story: https://www.law.nyu.edu/news/alumna-lisa-bonner-entertainment-lawyer-knicks

“When everything in your life is so uncertain, you cling to clarity where you can find it. You cling to anything you can find that feels good or familiar.”

This , we celebrate the courage and joy of alumna Leslie Cohen ‘92. Author, activist, and a woman who left her mark on New York City forever—literally—cast in bronze next to her wife at the Gay Liberation monument, just steps from Washington Square Park. 🌈 ⚖️
