June is Dravet Syndrome Awareness Month, and this year’s theme is Purple Drives Progress! 💜
Dravet syndrome is a rare, severe, life-long form of epilepsy that begins in infancy. For families navigating this diagnosis, everyday life requires incredible resilience, specialized care, and a dedicated support system.
This month, the Dravet Syndrome Foundation (DSF) is reminding us that every single action—no matter how small—fuels vital research, expands education, and strengthens family programs.
Here is how you can join the movement and help start a ripple effect this June:
✔️Wear It, Light It, Create It: Show your support by wearing purple, lighting up your home or community space in purple, or sharing trusted information to spark vital conversations.
✔️Take the Purple Drives Progress Challenge: Choose one visible purple action, raise $100 for research and family support, and nominate two friends or colleagues to do the same!
✔️June 15 – Dravet Remembrance Day: Join the community for the 6th Annual Remembrance Day to reflect and honor the loved ones lost to Dravet syndrome. A special tribute video will go live on DSF's public page at 12 PM EST.
✔️June 23 – International Dravet Syndrome Awareness Day: Stand with global advocacy partners and families worldwide. Consider downloading the DSF Toolkit to share fact graphics, tell your story, or connect with local legislators.
When one purple action inspires another, awareness grows—and more families find the connection and legal or educational advocacy they need.
Let's show up for the Dravet community. Tag your photos with and to show your purple! 🧬💪
