MG Miller, a boutique intellectual property (IP) law firm based out of Manhattan is seeking an associate attorney for a full-time position. Ideal candidates will have between 0-3 years of experience working as a patent attorney or patent examiner, and will have a strong technical background.
MG Miller works with startups, entrepreneurs, and mid-size companies, so experience/interest working with those types of clients is a plus. As a boutique firm, applicants who are looking to work in a smaller, more close-knit environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements/Qualifications:
-0-3 years of Intellectual Property experience required.
-Admission to the Patent Bar required.
-Admission to state bar required (applicants who are preparing to sit for the bar this year should feel free to apply), admission to New York bar and/or New Jersey bar a plus.
-Applicant must submit transcripts for -Undergraduate and Law School, resumes, and a cover letter explaining their interest in MG Miller
-Strong attention to detail
-Technologically adept, particularly with Microsoft Office
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Highly motivated and organized
-Must use Oxford comma
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate who is selected will assist our attorneys with:
-Patent application drafting
-Patent and trademark Office Action responses
-Patent and trademark clearance searches
-Trademark prosecution
-*Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings. (*While patent prosecution will be the primary focus of this position, applicants will have exposure to various aspects TTAB proceedings, if desired)
-Drafting and negotiating licensing agreements
