It has been recently reported that the Port Authority has not required some , who previously passed through E-Z Pass lanes without paying, to submit their money. The uncollected amount is estimated to be $114 million, covering the time span from 2011 to 2016.

Recently, the NYS Department of Transportation ( ) rerouted trucks using Grand and Flushing Ave. in Maspeth to alleviate the increasing overall congestion coming off of the . After instituting the bypass, the DOT removed Grand and Flushing Ave. from the truck route network, and also posted signs to advise to use the bypass. It has been recently reported that not all trucks are using the bypass as they are supposed to, and so the DOT will be implementing three time-driven solutions.

Drivers must be careful when driving in New York City . With expanding its program, more and more drivers will be fined through the mail without any interaction with a traffic police officer. The cameras are in fixed locations and may be capturing violators an hour before to an hour after the school day, and if there are any school activities in the evening or the weekend, the cameras can operate 30 minutes before and after such activity.

Comparing the last half of 2014 with the same period in 2015, the number of issued has increased by 50 percent.
