The health of all of our clients, colleagues, and employees is of paramount importance to Tumelty & Spier, LLP. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. The government has mandated many closures and the CDC has recommended social distancing and other precautionary steps.

We want to assure our extended family of clients, attorneys, staff, and friends, that we are reacting seriously and responsibly in the current situation. Our office is presently closed, but we are monitoring the situation. We have a contingency plan in place which enables us to seamlessly work remotely and provide uninterrupted service to our clients. Our phone system will allow telephone calls coming into the office to be automatically directed to the appropriate attorney’s voice mail so that we will be available to you at all times.

Congratulations to Tumelty & Spier, LLP partner John Tumelty for $5,000,000 Dollar verdict after medical malpractice jury trial.

The award was for 39-year old woman's pain and suffering due to failure to diagnose and repair urine leak after transplant surgery.

UPDATE: $1,335,000 Dollar settlement to construction worker who injured his back while using a jackhammer. Settlement achieved through novel approach asserting claims that a worker should not have been permitted to work in contorted position causing his back to be strained and herniated. We successfully defeated a defense motion to dismiss our case wherein the defendants claimed there were no viable legal theories upon which our client could recover. The settlement helps our client, his wife and their young daughter to regain normalcy in their lives.
