🚨 I thought it was $200,000 yuan. It was actually $200,000 USD. Here’s what happened after police arrived.

Yesterday, I shared a strange incident I witnessed on my way to the office. An older woman was chasing a younger woman down the street. According to what I later learned, the dispute involved an alleged $200,000 theft, and police ultimately arrested the younger woman.

I initially understood the amount to be 200,000 yuan, but it was apparently $200,000 USD.

This is also an important reminder for immigrant communities: scammers may try to exploit fear, language barriers, or uncertainty about immigration status. If you believe you are being scammed or are the victim of a crime, seek appropriate help. Contact law enforcement when necessary and speak with an attorney if you need legal guidance.

If there is an immediate emergency or crime in progress, call 911.

I was running to the office when I suddenly found myself helping stop a suspected $30,000 theft in Chinatown.

While heading to my office, I saw an older woman chasing another woman and shouting in Chinese. I didn’t understand what was happening, but it was clear something was wrong. I called 911, and the police arrived quickly. With help from Cantonese-speaking bystanders, I later learned that the incident apparently involved the alleged theft of approximately 200,000 yuan, around $30,000.

The takeaway: if you witness a crime or dangerous situation in the U.S., call 911 and let law enforcement handle it. Do not put yourself in danger by trying to intervene physically.

VAWA Başarı Hikayesi 🎉

Müvekkilimizin VAWA (I-360) başvurusunda USCIS tarafından Prima Facie Determination verildi. Bu, süreçte önemli ve olumlu bir gelişmedir.

⚠️ Prima facie tespiti, I-360 başvurusunun nihai olarak onaylandığı anlamına gelmez.

VAWA Prima Facie Established! 🎉

Congratulations to our client on receiving a Prima Facie Determination in their VAWA case.

A prima facie determination is an important positive step in the VAWA process. It means USCIS has reviewed the petition and determined that, based on the initial evidence submitted, the petition appears to meet the basic requirements for VAWA classification.

Important: A prima facie determination is not a final approval of the I-360 petition and does not guarantee that the case will ultimately be approved.

One “Yes” answer on a USCIS form can change your entire immigration case.
USCIS forms may look simple, but they contain many important background questions about immigration history, employment authorization, criminal issues, and other eligibility concerns. Never skip a question or assume it is unimportant. If an answer is “Yes,” make sure it is explained accurately and completely. Small errors or omissions can create serious problems later.

A Notice of Intent to Deny answered in one week and approved in less than 24 hours.

We spent approximately one week preparing a detailed response to our client’s Notice of Intent to Deny, including an affidavit and supporting evidence. We submitted the response yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m. Today, at 10:55 a.m., we received the approval notice.

We are incredibly happy for our client and proud of our law firm’s work. Every case is different, and past results do not guarantee future outcomes. Still, receiving this wonderful news less than 24 hours after submission is truly worth celebrating.

⚽ Üç korner bir penaltıysa, üç erteleme bir Green Card mıdır? 😄

🚨 Major Movement in the September 2026 Visa Bulletin: Some Family Categories Jumped More Than TWO YEARS!

The September 2026 Visa Bulletin brings significant forward movement for several family-based immigration categories:

🔹 F2B – Unmarried adult sons and daughters of permanent residents: approximately 20 months of movement
🔹 F3 – Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens: approximately 29 months of movement
🔹 F4 – Brothers and sisters of adult U.S. citizens: approximately 26 months of movement

If you have been waiting for your priority date, check your case now. Visa Bulletin dates can move backward through retrogression, so if your case is eligible and ready for document submission, consider taking the necessary steps to become documentarily qualified without unnecessary delay.

Göçmenlik mahkemeniz saat 8:30’daysa, 8:30’da binaya gelmek zaten geç kalmak olabilir. ⏰⚖️

Özellikle göçmenlik mahkemesinde duruşmaya katılmamak, bazı durumlarda yokluğunuzda sınır dışı kararı (in absentia removal order) verilmesi gibi ciddi sonuçlar doğurabilir. Gerçek bir acil durum yaşanırsa da ne olduğunu ayrıntılı şekilde açıklayabilmek ve mümkünse belgeleyebilmek önemlidir.

If your immigration court hearing is at 8:30, arriving at 8:30 is already too close for comfort.
Whether you have a hearing at Federal Plaza, 290 Broadway, another immigration court, or a USCIS interview, arrive early. Judges expect punctuality, and being late to immigration court can have serious consequences including the possibility of an in absentia removal order if you fail to appear.
Give yourself extra time. Get to the area early, grab coffee or breakfast, relax, and then walk into court prepared and on time. Don’t plan to run through the doors at the last minute.
