Regardless of your opinion of the victim in this case, — he was an incarcerated individual under the custody of . had a duty to protect and provide adequate medical care, regardless of the person’s underlying crimes. Mr. Cruciani, like all incarcerated individuals, have rights afforded to them by the US Constitution and State of New York. Mr Cruciani was deprived of those rights from the moment he was transferred to through the date of his death…beginning with ignoring and/or disregarding the court order placing him in protective custody/suicide watch. This wrongful death has a resounding effect on a universe of people, including the dozens of survivors who now are deprived of their closure that they were seeking.
