This weekend the world lost a good man and rising Assistant District Attorney, Ian Kersting. I worked with him and admired his dedication to representing victims who were s*xually assaulted. He was admired by defense lawyers and prosecutors alike. His su***de breaks my heart. My thoughts and love are with his family and colleagues.

The Covenant House is in extra need this year. Through no fault of their own, they lost critical grants to help human trafficking and s*x crime survivors. I’m adding a link in the comments about those details. But these cuts have already resulted in reduced services to kids who need the most help.
Please give what you can. $11 gives a day of meals to a kid. $120 preps a resident for an interview with clothing, shoes, and a haircut. Thank you!

I am gearing up for my 8th Sleep Out for the Covenant House. Over all of these years I have worked with them and a few residents who have legal needs. I represent many extrodiary clients. Ms. Foley’s reliance and wisdom beyond her years inspires me to continue my work as a victim advocate. From age 9 on she spoke up about her abuse. Her abuser had preyed on young women for over 30 years. It took ten years, more than half of her life, for her to see justice served. This summer a jury heard her and convicted Mr. Mack. Yesterday he was sentenced to life.
